Emma and Tom are at the airport. They are going on holiday to Spain. They are excited. The airport is big and very busy. Many people are walking with bags and suitcases. Emma and Tom look at the big screen with flights. Their flight is to Barcelona from Gate B12.
They go to the check-in desk. A worker smiles at them.
“Good morning. Where are you flying today?”
“To Barcelona,” says Emma. “Here are our passports and tickets.”
“Thank you. Do you have any bags to check in?”
“Yes, one suitcase, please,” says Tom.
The worker checks the suitcase and gives them two boarding passes.
“Your gate is B12. Have a nice flight!”
Emma and Tom go to security. They put their bags, phones, and jackets in a tray. Emma walks through the scanner. It beeps.
The security officer says, “Can you take off your watch, please?”
Emma takes off her watch and tries again. This time it is OK.
After security, Emma and Tom are sitting near their gate. They can see planes outside the window. Emma buys water, and Tom buys a sandwich. They are talking about the hotel and the beach in Spain. They feel happy and relaxed.
Soon, they hear an announcement:
“Flight to Barcelona now boarding at Gate B12.”
Emma and Tom stand up. They take their bags and walk to the gate.
Suddenly, Emma stops.
“Wait… Where is my boarding pass? I can’t find it!”
She checks her pockets. She checks her bag. She looks on the seat. It is not there. Emma feels nervous.
“Don’t worry,” says Tom. “Maybe it is at the shop. Let’s go and ask.”
They go back to the shop. Emma talks to the shop worker.
“Excuse me, is my boarding pass here?”
The worker looks behind the counter and then smiles.
“Yes! Here you go.”
“Thank you so much!” says Emma. She feels better.
Emma and Tom go back to the gate. They show their passports and boarding passes. The gate worker smiles and says, “Enjoy your flight!”
On the plane, Emma and Tom sit next to the window. They look out and smile. Their holiday starts now.
